SUNNY K. PARK

Mr. Sunny K. Park, the 2002 Patriot Award winner is a Korean American of Atlanta, Georgia, born in South Korea is the C.E.O. of General Building Maintenance, Inc., (www.gbmweb.com) a commercial facility maintenance services. He is also the President of Global Sun Investments, Inc., (www.globalsun.com) a real estate investment firm, and the C.E.O. of Hepatech Clean Room Services, Inc., (www.hepatech.com) a micro contamination service provider for semi-conductor manufacturers.

Mr. Park was the founder of the Good Neighboring Foundation, Inc. a movement for Asian Americans to participate in American community activities. He is also a Deacon at the Community Presbyterian Church in Tucker, Georgia, and contributes columns to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. He is dedicating most of his time for campaigning for Asian Americans to involve in the community activities.

August 2001, President Bush appointed Mr. Park as commissioner of The White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. (www.aapi.org) Mr. Park serves on the Board of Directors for several organizations, including: Berry College the Georgia Public Policy Foundation, The Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta, International Vaccine Institute's Supporting Committee and Atlanta College of Art.

Mr. Park is a loyal fan of Korean War veterans in Georgia and the country as he serves on the board of the National Museum of Patriotism, United Service Organization-Georgia, and member of the Business Executives for National Security. He dedicated Georgia Korean War Veterans Memorial 11 November 1993.

From 1990 to 1991, he led the Federation of Korean Associations of the United States as chairman, he founded The Korean-American School of Atlanta in 1981, elected as the Chairman of the Overseas Korean Convention 1991 in Berlin, Germany and currently serves as President of the Korea America Friendship Society of Atlanta.

Mr. Park is 2002 Patriot Award winner and in 1990, the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and Atlanta Business Chronicle presented him with its "Small Business Person of the Year" award, “Entrepreneur of the Year Award” from National Women in Business and the State of Georgia has twice recognized him as "Outstanding Citizen." He is decorated with “Order of National Service Merit” for the community service by South Korean government, 2000.

Mr. Park has completed independent studies and attended the Kellogg Business School at Northwestern University and Indiana University.
